Tell me, Connected Women 💖
Have things been feeling a bit out of control at work just lately?
Sometimes, despite your best efforts, the results take their time to appear.
It’s so easy to feel overworked and unrewarded at these times.
And even more so when a hammer blow comes out of the blue and seems to knock you sideways.
It’s hard to hold onto beliefs and motivation at these times. What more can you possibly do to make it all work?
This week’s career reading is all about hanging on in there, and surviving the rough to get to the smooth.
Card 1 | Ten of Wands – Too Many Tasks
As you can see, the Ten of Wands talks of feeling weighed down by the many burdens of life.
Wands are the fiery, creative suit in the tarot, but at the moment, you have little chance to shine, with so many responsibilities weighing you down.
Here, the Ten of Wands is saying that while your burdens are exhausting, you are still moving forwards.
A lot of this may be how you feel about your situation, rather than the situation itself.
Allowing the thoughts of so many tasks to flood your mind is a fast road to mental exhaustion.
It may be possible to address them one by one, or two by two, or whatever it takes. Rather than focusing on the enormity, break them down and tick them off.
With each one ticked, a spark of your fire can return, making the remainder a tiny bit easier. You may be closer to overcoming this than you think.
Card 2 | The Tower – Managing Change
Uh-oh. As a Major Arcana card, The Tower indicates that a significant level of change is either on the way or you’re experiencing it right now.
This card is often viewed as negative, as the changes happen to you, and are beyond your control.
And sometimes that may be the case. Life events can be like that. In a career reading, it can mean that change is a-coming with some accompanying disruption, for better or worse.
It may also be saying that you’re still being affected by change, and that you’re feeling all this – right now.
Change is rarely comfortable, especially if it’s driven by external factors. In every workplace, forces beyond anybody’s control have wrought havoc over the past two years.
Adaptation has been sadly necessary, and this may have meant changing the way you do business, or even finding a new job altogether.
It’s tempting to believe, as a storng woman, that you’re in control of all things in your life. your opportunity to move to something brighter, bigger, better.
It’s time to grow through adversity, coming through stronger, wiser, and better placed for your working future, if you’re able to embrace the opportunity to grow.
Card 3 | Seven of Pentacles – It’s Time to Wait
This peaceful card speaks loudly and clearly about taking the time to wait for results.
You can tend the ground and nurture the seedlings, but there’s nothing you can do to make that harvest come earlier.
Your figures may be low, because it takes time for trends to turn around, or for reputations to build, or for word of mouth to grow.
Your longer term plans may seem pointless, because elements out of your control still need to fall into place.
Or outside circumstances may change completely, meaning you need to review, revise and change direction, partially or completely.
All you can do is breath, exhale, and wait. Let go and start over again.
Remember that nothing is wasted. Whatever happens, you’ll move forward with more knowledge and information for the next time.
Going With The Flow
This week’s reading is a reminder that workplace situations do not always develop as you’d wish, and there are times when you need to adopt a holding position and see the changes through.
The Ten of Wands gives recognition of your hard work and the fact that no matter how accomplished you are, there are times when it can feel too much. That’s OK. Take a moment for yourself and then prioritise what needs to be done. You’re so nearly there.
The Tower indicates that even when major changes seem to disrupt everything you’ve been working for, life will continue. Your strength rests in your ability to adapt to change, absorbing the knocks before responding to the opportunities that arise.
The Seven of Pentacles shows that the positive results can take time to arrive. You may need to trust the processes, and sometimes you may need to review them. Take the time to give every action the thought it requires. The rewards will come!
Ultimately, learning to recognise what you can and can’t control is the first step in coping. Once you recognise that certain things aren’t your responsibility, it’s easier to let them go. Then if changes need to be made, you can make decisions with a clear mind and thoughts uncluttered.
Counterintuitively, you’ll then be in a far better mindset to regain control and successfully navigate these rough stages in your working life.
With love, Jane 🦋
